Finished Panya NGiombe

'Panya NGiombe' is my personal favourite typeface I have created for this brief. I adore the colour combination which Meryem outlined with her original illustration, and think I have used it to the best of my ability. The use of the rich blue as the predominant colour is great, as it allows the pink and yellow to pop. I like the use of horizontal stripes, with my only issue being the width of them. If the typeface was printed on a large scale I would keep the widths the same and add far more. But because of the small scale I can only fit four without losing clarity. I considered only featuring the pink semi circles on a few of the letters, rather than them all, but they appeared far too plain without that addition. Perhaps when composing actual words with the typefaces this is something I could come back to. I also used colour variety along the edges and along the bottom of the letters to add more complexity. It may only be a small idea, but I think it adds a lot to the overall finished alphabet and works really well when individual letters are placed next to one another. There's something about the finished alphabet that seems slightly 'Bauhaus' to me. Obviously this was not the intention, but I think it adds a certain amount of believability to the typeface, and confirms to me that it could work in the real world.

Below is a flip book detailing each individual letter.
