'Ligbi' is my fourth finished typeface. It was perhaps the most intricate of all the previous designs and took much longer to compose than the others. The main reason behind this is the placement of the black sections with 'teeth' protruding from them, and figuring out a spacing that was appropriate for all the different lengths. Again I took the colours from Meryem's original illustration and decided to use the red as the predominant colour due to its vibrancy and eye catching quality. It also worked best with the others colours used as highlights. I could have perhaps included more green in the design but when it was placed directly next to the red, or on top, it was far too jarring and unsettling on the eyes. If I can't find a subtle way of incorporating it slightly more than I will use the basic design seen below. I do like this design a lot, but think it works much better on a large scale. After printing out the full alphabet on one sheet, and just the one enlarged letter on another it's become clear that the scale plays an important role in clarity. When the letters are large the detail really shows and the effort which has been put in is clear. This is is something I will have to bear in mind when using the font in the future.
Below is a flip book clearly displaying each individual letter.
