Re-Definition:
STATEMENT OF INTENT
The collection of toys will be produced under and underlining theme, through the use of image (illustration/Type as image). This will then with every individual personality given to the toyz, allow us to work across print based promotional material, a heavy focus and emphasis on the packaging as a whole. The distribution will then all be linked and allow us to use a number of relevant sources such as iphone hardback cases,stickers,t-shirts to promote the collection. Which will work with the audience. The theme we have decided to look into is very pattern based and ethically inspired. Our first initial theme was towards the aztec and latin American region looking into a source of possibilites as this was a very siginicant visual source of inspiration for us both, so it seemed only natural to combine it and include it in this brief, even though it is one of my main sources of inspiration I have never had the chance to work with it within a brief, so this seemed perfect. After a considerable amount of research into the theme and what had already been done, we discovered that it had already been done. This is when we turned to another similar culture that also have a heavy visual language that we could use which is the African (west-south African) theme. This opens a whole other world of symbols, patterns and colour combination which very also inspire me and have done in the past. The other positive is that it has not yet been done, which really gives us a blank canvas, and will really allow us to test our creativity as we have no point of reference in relations to the vinyl figures.
