Arcade Game Development

In order to discover if I could successfully propose designs for some specialised arcade machines I figured I best assemble a pre made one to see if the dimensions were correct and it looked acceptable when glued together. Below are the images of the machine I put together, this one is designed around the vintage Donkey Kong games, and follows a formula that I wish to when designing my Sonic inspired one.

From putting together this net and discovering that it looks acceptable enough I then used illustrator to trace over the existing lines and create a 'blank canvas'. I kept the sides a variety of blue colours to show where folds and tabs are present, yet kept it within the realms of the Sonic universe. Below is a screen cap of my vectorised net that I can now go on to develop knowing full well that anything I create based on this composition will work. I'm thinking a large scale Sonic on one side and perhaps Dr. Robotnik on the other. With a screen grab from the first game obviously being visible through a hole on the top section of the middle section net.
