Visual Language: 15th December

Today we had an introduction to the photography studio and all the different aspects that accompany it. The session started off with a seminar from the guy that works there and we were all told to get out an SLR camera from the photography department. We looked at all the different functions and settings and were able to experiment with the studio space and our coloured items. We used different coloured gels over lights to create brightly coloured images like the ones below.
We were given a brief that required us to explore our chosen colour, in my case purple, and produce ten photographic prints that explore as many different aspects as possible. We had to explore studio lighting, frame and format. Below is some early experimentation.
