Booklet Pagination

The following post may seem a little confusing at first, perhaps even a little irrelevant. However it is key in helping my move this project along. I've known I wanted to produce a booklet to accompany the DVD boxsets for a while, but had no idea how to tackle it. I started by drawing a few illustrations on how I would seperate each of the actors and the two films they feature in. I came to the conclusion that because of the size of the booklet, which is quite small, each film needs a page dedicated to information which is purely textual and a page which is a little more fun, with either an illustration or a large scale quote. I then used inDesign to lay this out very basically.

Together with a front and back cover, the booklet itself would be 34 pages; alternatively 17 double page spreads. At first this seems quite a lot but I will attempt it. However if it becomes too overwhelming and takes over the main focus from the packaging then I will consider focusing on just one film from each actor. This would decrease the size of the booklet, meaning 13 double page spreads and 26 pages in total, which still seems like quite a lot.

Below is the inDesign document that helped me come to the conclusions above.
